Junior Compliance Officer

Stern Bank is seeking an enthusiastic and organized individual to serve as our Junior Compliance Officer.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing any customer communications subject to consumer protection regulations.
  • Evaluating consumer compliance risk in new or updated services and help to determine lines for clients based on risk and required controls.
  • Monitor and interpret any regulatory developments or changes, amended laws, and enforcement actions and advise appropriate updates accordingly.
  • Assist in addressing any deficiencies or unforeseen complications at the advice of examiners/auditors.

Requirements for this position include:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with banking laws and regulations and consumer protection laws.
  • 2 or more years of banking experience in BSA/AML compliance required, BSA/AML certification preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and task management skills; careful attention to detail.
  • Consistent reliability, flexibility and dedication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Bookkeeper

Stern Bank is seeking an organized and energetic individual to serve as our Bookkeeper.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and managing QuickBooks ledger.
  • General accounting assistance, as needed.
  • Organize and monitor any and all expenses.
  • Monitor bank accounts and analyze assets and liability accounts.
  • Record and monitor bank, credit card and petty cash activity.
  • A/R management.
  • A/P management.
  • Collect and process all tax forms from clients and employees.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Thorough knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Skilled in managing numerical data.
  • Attentiveness to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work well both alone and with others.
  • Good communication skills.
