Nowadays, there are a number of email and other scams that are designed to convince you into providing your user ID and password to the scammers. To help you defend yourself against them, Stern Bank has compiled a list of important tips to help you safeguard your accounts and money from these online scams. You can also check some general information on how to prevent online fraud on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consumer.ftc.gov\/topics\/privacy-identity-online-security\">Federal Trade Commission<\/a>&#8216;s web pages that contain details about online safety, identity theft, and online scam.<\/p>\n<p>Read our online security tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Change your passwords regularly, at least 1 time every 6 months.<\/li>\n<li>Your computer software must be up-to-date: web browser, anti-virus software, and an operating system.<\/li>\n<li>Email attachments and links within email can contain fishing scripts.<\/li>\n<li>Log out of the website after you have concluded a secure session.<\/li>\n<li>When you don&#8217;t use your computer, turn it off or disconnect from the web.<\/li>\n<li>If you have fallen victim to an online scam (or you think so), change all your passwords.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you suspect you have received a fraudulent email that appears to be from Stern Bank (Stern International Bank), forward it to us immediately at info@sternbank.com. Reporting suspected email or online fraud (i.e. phishing scams) help us protect you and your assets.<\/p>\n<p>After you report us fraudulent emails that appear to be from Stern Bank but were not sent by us, we work closely with appropriate agencies to investigate them. You may as well to forward suspicious emails to the FTC at spam@uce.gov or call them at 1-877-IDTHEFT.<\/p>\n<p>We appreciate any help in our effort to fight against fraud.
